Having spent 8 days not walking I have slowly got back into it doing a daily 5k walk either from school or home. I appear to have no more pain which is great as it is only 2 weeks till the Moro 1/2 marathon.

I did the club walk down Green Island Bush Road and up Blackhead Road which was around 10km. It was hosted by the Vice Presidents and Club Captains. There were 23 walkers in the group. When I finished, my left sole felt sore with a blister feel without the blister. I decided to go and buy some socks and shorts from Stirling Sports.

The "Marafun" is meant to be a fun event of either a 10k run or 5k walk as a prelude to the "Moro Marathon" in 2 weeks time. We`left the Donaghy's Tennis Centre" in Logan Park Drive at 10am. The 5k walk was two circuits around the streets slongside the Logan Park/University Oval complex. My time was 45:37 mins and was the 15th walker back out of 120. Craig had to pull out with his troublesome calf muscle again which is very frustrating for him.
To avoid shin splints I parked my car at Ravensbourne and walked to the race start. I walked with April from the Caversham club and we completed the course in just over 45 mins. There is a feeling among the competitors that the race was longer than 5k's. I also felt this. There were 300 participants and I was the 40th walker home. April got a spot prize`with her 41st place.
